Designing Great Beers by Ray Daniels.  Good source of the background on homebrewing calculations.
Brewing Classic Styles by John Palmer and Jamil Zainascheff. Great recipe source, plus a good education on the different beer styles.
The Complete Joy of Homebrewing by Charlie Papazian. Charlie is a true pioneer of US homebrewing, and this was one of the books that was first written after homebrewing was legalized.
Yeast by Chris White and Jamil Zainascheff.  Good book on the prime ingredient of brewing and how to optimize its use.
Brewing Better Beer - Gordon Strong's book of techniques for advanced brewers to improve their beer.
Brew like a Pro by Dave Miller.  A book with discussion of many techniques and equipment builds.
Brew Ware - A book of projects for home brewers.  A bit dated, but still has some useful ideas.
Tasting Beer by Randy Mosher. Good book for helping to develop tasting skills
